The aim of the project
Pinna nobilis (Pinna nobilis) in the areas where the abutments of the Çanakkale 1915 Bridge to be built between Çanakkale province, Lapseki and Gelibolu districts are located, in the sea filling areas and in the dredging area where the piers to be built on land for the bridge piers (Anatolian and European anchors) will be floated in the sea (drydock). ) is intended to be transported alive to a safe area.
The importance of the Pinna nobilis species
Pinas, which fall under the Bivalvia class, are represented in the Mediterranean by the species Pinna nobilis (Linnaeus, 1758), Pinna rudis (Linnaeus, 1758) and Atrina fragilis (Pennant, 1777).
Pinnidae species, generally called "Pina" in Turkey, are called fan mussels, razor fish or pen shells in other countries. It is a red listed species and is under protection for various reasons.
