Purpose, Scope, Basis and Definitions

Aim

ARTICLE 1 – (1) The purpose of this Regulation; It regulates the procedures and principles regarding the objectives, activities, management bodies, duties and working style of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Underwater Research and Application Center, established within Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.

Scope

ARTICLE 2 – (1) This Regulation covers all kinds of underwater research on living resources in our underwater and coastal areas within Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, geology, archaeology, geophysics, marine chemistry, geographical studies, fine arts, underwater medicine, underwater physics, archeology and history. and includes activities such as courses, underwater sports competitions, seminars, conferences, workshops, scientific trips, exhibitions and publications on these subjects.

Purposes and Fields of Activity of the Center

Purpose of the center

ARTICLE 5 – (1) The purpose of the center; especially underwater creatures; It covers underwater archaeology, underwater history, underwater education, underwater medicine and all other related branches of science. In addition, it is to carry out all practical training activities that will introduce the importance of the underwater world.

Areas of activity of the center

ARTICLE 6 – (1) The Center carries out the following activities within the framework of its purpose:

a) It cooperates with institutions and organizations on all kinds of research and similar issues in seas and inland waters.

b) Conducts, organizes and makes suggestions for research and practices regarding the use, improvement and pollution problems of living and non-living water resources in Turkey's inland waters (lakes, ponds, streams) and seas.

c) Conducts all kinds of biological research related to inland waters and seas. It conducts research and practices on issues related to the inventory of living organisms, their use, improvement and enrichment of economical products, and artificial cultivation.

d) Plans all kinds of geological and sedimentological research in inland waters and seas and assists institutions and organizations working on this subject.

d) Plans physical and chemical oceanographic research in inland waters and seas and assists institutions and organizations working on this subject.

e) Plans all kinds of research on archeology and historical sciences in inland waters and seas, takes an active role in bringing underwater cultural assets to science and humanity, and assists institutions and organizations working on this subject.

f) Takes part in the identification of underwater national parks and protected areas. It helps institutions and organizations working in this field.

g) Conducts research and makes suggestions that will shed light on the use, management and other problems of inland waters and seas.

g) Keeps a team of divers ready at all times for diving that may be necessary in these researches and applications.

h) Supports scientific studies in the field of underwater medicine (free diver physiology, pressure chamber and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, etc.).

i) It helps underwater physics, geophysics, marine chemistry, underwater tourism and geographical studies.

i) Supports all kinds of studies related to underwater in the field of fine arts and sciences and ensures participation in the implemented activities.

j) It cooperates with other national and foreign institutions and organizations on matters appropriate to its purpose.

k) Organizing conferences, seminars, panels, etc. to introduce the underwater world to Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University faculty members, staff, students and local people. organizes. It opens underwater lifesaving and diver courses and gives certificates to those who are successful.

l)  Establishes close relationships with institutions affiliated with Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and especially the Faculty of Fisheries, and

m) Domestic and international research regarding underwater research in our region
