UNDERWATER RESEARCH AND APPLICATION CENTER 2019 ACTIVITY REPORT

As every year, ÇOMÜ Underwater Research and Application Center carried out underwater-related meetings, projects and activities together with ÇOMÜ Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology. In June 2019, we went to Bozcaada to carry out studies within the scope of the "Determination of Diving Routes of the Islands" project and the BAP project titled "Determination of Bozcaada Aquatic Biodiversity and the Effects of the Island's Marine Culture on the Character of the Tourism Area". Here, underwater photographs and video recordings were taken in certain diving areas of the island, contributing to the realization of projects.

Participation in July 1 cabotage festival activities was provided and support was provided for sea and coastal cleaning activities.

Contributions were made by participating in the meetings organized by the Çanakkale Governorship in August and December 2019, on the opening of war wrecks to diving tourism.

Participation was made in the diving workshop held in Ayvalık district of Balıkesir between 12 and 13 October 2019.

We participated in the Underwater Science Meeting organized by Istanbul Gedik University between 7-8 December 2019 and a paper presentation titled "Ghost Hunting and Its Situation in Turkey" was made.

Regarding artificial reef construction, Lapseki and Karabiga fishing cooperatives came to meet with ÇOMÜ Underwater Research and Application Center and were given information about artificial reef construction and making a protocol in principle.

The activities of ÇOMÜ Underwater Research and Application Center continue with the same momentum in 2020.
